Pretty in PURPLE

So much for winter weather and playing in the snow this year...the flowers are blooming and more are popping thru. As much as I wanted snow, being able to get outside and play is wonderful.

Since Larsen is wearing purple today, she just had to have a photo shoot out front with the blooming crocuses...

We have been having such a mild winter, and Sunday was a beautiful. So after church we headed off to the lake with some heals of bread and a bagel to feed the ducks. Todd threw the bread to the ducks and Anders threw rocks.

Larsen has been slow to eating/liking baby food...it was hard to get the spoon past her clamped-tight gums and she ended up wearing more food than eating. But the past couple days, she has finally started opening her mouth and eating! She makes a mess, mostly because she likes to suck her thumb in between bites.

Poor Larsen has been living in sleeper PJ's all winter, and really has not gotten to wear much girlie clothing yet. I put her in sleeper PJ's for two reasons: 1) socks always fall off and 2) pants rise up exposing inches of chubby legs. So I have been rotating the same 4-5 sleepers and finally decided to dress her up for church one day. Then another day was warm and pleasant, so she got to wear a hoodie and pants. Can't wait for spring and summer -- Larsen has a closet FULL of dresses and ADORABLE outfits!

Visit to Big Canoe/GA

Last week I headed down to GA with the kids & Bella to spend a few days with Mom & Dad, and then attend a high school friend's baby shower. Here is Anders closing his eyes and waiting for his Valentine's present from Grammie and Papa. He kept wanting to close his eyes again in hopes to get more presents...

On Saturday we headed down to Lilburn. While I went to the baby shower, everyone stayed and played at Michael & Julie's house. Anders was hyper & happy while in toy-heaven...so many new/different toys to play with AND Haley too. He had SO MUCH fun and hated leaving everyone. He started crying when we pulled out the driveway and kept listing everyone and asking to see them soon...in those moments, I wish we lived closer to family!

Larsen has gotten stronger and is sitting up longer. I usually put the boppy behind her, since she still tips over eventually. But she often sits up for a long time and enjoys watching Anders play, and plays with her toys & teethers...

Half Birthdays

A couple weeks ago, both kiddos celebrated their half birthdays -- Anders Feb. 7th and Larsen Feb. 8th. I went to Whole Foods to get a cupcake, but everything was decorated really fancy for Valentine's Day. So I decided to get this small cake, knowing Anders would like the bike. It says "wheelie like u..." which is true about both Anders and Larsen. Can't believe Anders is 2.5 years old and Larsen is 6 months old!

Sharing 101

Anders has figured out the art of negotiation...others might call it sharing, but it isn't that generous. He often wants Larsen's lamb lovey or a stuffed animal. When I tell him it is hers, he asks "keep it?" I often say, "no that is Larsen's." So he then finds something of his that he can give her in exchange (wasn't my idea). It amazes me the treasured items he chooses to give her. He trades his favorites like froggie, monk-monk (monkey lovey) or guitar (ukulele). I do realize that this system will not be as easy once Larsen has a say, but they both were both happy with the trade this time...
