Aunt Katie & Uncle Chip came to visit!

So Katie & Chip arrived on Saturday, right as Anders was waking up from his afternoon nap. When Katie went to get him out of his crib, Anders did not know what to think about the mommy look-alike. Then when he saw Uncle Chip, it was too confusing to handle and he decided to be shy and sensitive for a while. Here he is slowly warming up to Uncle Chip...

Emphasis on "slowly"...

And now later the same day, much happier and having fun with Uncle Chip...

Morning nap - Anders fell asleep while sitting up

So this morning's nap was different. Instead of falling asleep after about 10 minutes of tossing and turning in his crib, Anders took about an hour to fall asleep. And when he finally did fall asleep, he was sitting up leaning against the side of the crib. I think he is fascinated with his new skill of sitting up in his crib, and so he just wanted to play and explore. I crept in the room to take pictures and then lay him down.

I really need Todd to get home so he can lower the crib mattress. During Anders' morning nap, I looked at the monitor and found him sitting up for the first time. I laid him back down and by the time I got back downstairs to look at the video monitor, I saw him sitting up on his own. So I grabbed the camera and ran upstairs to find this...

"Look Mommy, I am sitting up in my crib"...

"Look Bella, this is fun!"

"What Mom, you want me to lay back down & sleep?"

"But aren't I SO cute sitting here in my crib?!? I don't need to sleep."

Needless to say, Anders took about 20 minutes LONGER to fall asleep for his morning nap today!

Finally I have found something in Anders that is definitely ME -- today he really LOVED cherries! Todd does not like cherries, but I LOVE them. Anders is SO MUCH like his Daddy but today we shared cherries during dinner and it was fun!

Blueberries for breakfast

I gave Anders some blueberries this morning for breakfast -- he made a MESS! I kind of regretted my decision when I realized that EVERYTHING was being stained blue: his hands, the highchair, his face & even his left foot.

This blueberry was stuck on his chin for a while :)

Bella has figured out that with Anders eating finger foods, she too is eating finger foods. So Bella has a new post that she hangs out at whenever Anders is eating a meal.

Today at Target I bought Anders bouncing balls and apple puffs -- both were hits! I got the puffs in hopes to get him better at feeding himself. They stick to his fingers and so he did really well with them. I think he really enjoyed them & so did Bella. He shared with her, which was quite funny to watch. Bella gently took the pieces from his hand...

These pictures were taken pre-bath -- I decided to strip him down for dinner then bathe him afterwards...so we were then off to bath-time then bed!

Memorial Day COOKOUT at the Goodrich's

Yesterday we had a great afternoon at the Goodrich's -- WARNING lots of pictures from the day...

Warren grilled chicken, burgers & hotdogs and so we decided to give Anders his first taste of chicken. He liked it but didn't eat too much of it, just a couple bites.
