My Birthday

I got to celebrate my birthday several times this week & felt VERY loved! 

First Todd & I went to dinner with Jeremy and Sarah on Wednesday night -- had a GREAT dinner and wonderful time with them. 

Next, on my birthday I went out to lunch with everyone from my office and had a HUGE family style meal from Maggiano's -- ate ALOT and then spent the evening on the couch watching TV in my pj's (it was perfect)!  

Then last night I went out to dinner to Kalamata's (a great little Greek place that I love) with my girlfriends to celebrate.

There was a theme for most of the gifts I received this year -- SPOILING ME!  I got manicures, pedicures, prenatal massages and facials!  I am SO EXCITED for each of the them and am SO thankful that I will have times to escape, relax and treat myself to something so special.  I was already hoping to have regular pedicures during the next several months because: 1) I will only be wearing flip flops and 2) I can't reach my own toes to paint them very easily!

I can't believe how different this time next year will be for us, and how my birthdays will never be quite the same again!

We are having a BOY!

Today we had our first ultrasound at 20 weeks and found out we are having a BOY!  We both were surprised and very excited.  During the ultrasound we saw many angles and views of the brain, heart, arms, legs, mid-section and spine.   He was moving around ALOT therefore it was difficult to get certain shots.  The technician tried so hard to get a profile view for us -- she poked & pushed on my stomach to try to get him to move into a better position, but we never got to see one.  The picture below shows him with his fist up by his face and body to the left...


Below was one of the first images Todd & I saw of him (and was the moment we knew clearly "it" was now a "him") and we were having a boy!


After the doctor appointment, we went on a lunch date & shopped at Green Hills Mall to look for nursery ideas and boy outfits...after much debate between a stuffed lion or monkey, we came home with a lion.  And the only other purchase was a name book to help inspire us to find a boy name that we love!

We are PREGNANT!

Todd & I were in New York City just before Christmas when we found out that we were pregnant!  We then got to share the exciting news with our families during the holidays. I am now past many weeks of puking and feeling much better.  
We are SO EXCITED because we FINALLY have our first ultrasound this week and we'll find out if we are having a boy or a girl. Then the planning will begin!
I'll post those pictures and then more updates will follow over the next several months as we prepare for the baby to arrive in August!
